As you already know, last night Nigeria slumped to defeat against a Messi-led Argentinian side, a 2-1 loss that guaranteed our knock out from the ongoing World Cup in Russia. I’m not exactly surprised at Nigeria’s early ousting, but I guess the world won’t forget the Super Eagles’ modern redux of the ‘94 World Cup jersey and how it became a cultural sensation.
On a sour note, our exit translated into trolling fodder for Ghanaian Twitter, reigniting the polarising, long-running Nigeria-Ghana feud. Sure, it adds salt to injury but, nonetheless, here are the ones that caught our attention.
