Runtown launches new music company
Nigerian singer, Runtown has unveiled his own company called Sound God Music Group. The 28-year-old singer made the announcement at a launch party in Los Angeles, US.
Alongside his label, Runtown has also launched a charity project, titled “WANA – We Are New Africa.”
XXXTentacion was ‘urged to increase security by lawyer’ before he was shot dead
XXXTentacion was allegedly urged by his lawyer to increase security before he was shot dead on Monday, June 18.
The singer, 20, was murdered during an armed robbery, and his lawyer has now claimed he had previously warned the star to increase his security Talking to The Sun, Sentinel, XXX’s lawyer David Bogenschutz revealed his thoughts on the rapper’s death.
He said: ‘We talked about him needing security, that he was past the point of being a kid making melodies on a street corner.’
Grammys expand major category nominations from 5 to 8
The Grammy’s announced several changes to its awards process, most notably that the number of nominations for the “General Field” categories — record of the year, album of the year, song of the year, and best new artist — will increase from five to eight from 2019.
According to the announcement, “This change will better reflect the large number of entries in these categories and allow voters greater flexibility when selecting this year’s best recordings.”
