A Nigerian Billionaire, Dozy Mmobuosi is reportedly set to complete the acquisition of Sheffield United for £90 million.
The news was confirmed on the official website of the Times UK. According to reports, Mmobousi company was valued at $7.6 billion (about £6.17 billion), and he will be subject to the EFL’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test.
Sheffield are pushing for a promotion into the Premier League, they are currently 12 points behind third-placed Middlesbrough having a game in hand. Promotion is very important to them because of the current Financial situation of the club, if they fail to get into the Premier League next season that rules them from signing any player in the next 18 months.
Last year it was believed that Henry Mauriss was close to buying the club, only for that deal to collapse because the American failed to meet the criteria of the EFL.
