Espn confirmed the news on its website confirming that Ten Hag is the preferred candidate to Paris Saint-Germain's manager, Mauricio Pochettinho. Manchester United have been in search of a manager that will take over from Ralf Rangnick who was appointed on an interim basis until the end of the season.
The decision to hire Ten Hag was taken by Manchester United's football director John Murtough and technical director Darren Fletcher, who have reported to chief executive Richard Arnold, with joint-chairman Joel Glazer having the final decision on the appointment.
Manchester United fans will hope Ten Hag brings back the glory days back to Old Trafford which was experienced when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge of the club. The Red Devils have failed to dominate the Premier League since they won the title under Sir Alex in 2013.
