The defending champions of the Women's Champions League Barcelona defeated Real Madrid in the first leg of the quarter-finals #ElClassico.
It is safe to say that this is not the best week for any Real Madrid side in Spain as Barcelona beat the women's team in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Women's Champions League on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
The defending champions in the competition came from one goal down to win the game by 3-1 as they drew the first blood in this encounter. Pina scored a penalty to put Barcelona in the match after Real Madrid had scored and totally dominated the first half of the game; Alexia Putellas then scored twice to secure a concrete win for her side ahead of the second leg fixture at the Camp Nou.
Real Madrid had been sharp from the very start of the game, but Barcelona showed their experience as the current champions and had to dig deep to secure a win. However, the second leg of the competition is still open as the Real Madrid team would be looking to secure a win or probably take the game into extra time.
