Wizkid's 'Made in Lagos' Breaks Nigerian Record on Billboard World Albums Chart

Wizkid's Made in Lagos album has become the longest-charting Nigerian album of all time on the Billboard World Albums chart.

Made in Lagos which is the No. 1 album on the Billboard World Albums Chart has spent a total of 46 weeks on the chart dating back to its release by Wizkid last year. This was announced on Tuesday, the 28th of September 2021.

Wizkid is currently on tour in the United States for his Made in Lagos album. The album which was released last year stormed the charts barely weeks after its release and has remained strong since then. That run got, even more, stronger when Essence featuring Tems gained ground globally. The song currently has a remix treatment with American pop superstar, Justin Bieber.

This is the 46th week that Wizkid's Made in Lagos album has spent on the Billboard World Albums chart, effectively making it the longest-charting Nigerian album of all time. Essence is currently also on its way to becoming the no. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 according to projections.
