Davido has said during his new video interview on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah that he got in trouble after the End Sars protests last year.
Davido told Trevor Noah on the Daily Show video interview that he did not intend for his song to be the theme of the protest and his subsequent involvements put a target on his back. The interview was shared via YouTube on Wednesday, the 29th of September 2021.
Davido told Trevor Noah that he knew from time that afrobeats was going to take over the world. He recounted an incident two years ago when he made it known on the stage while receiving his BET Award. Davido also said that right from when he was schooling in Atlanta, afrobeats music has always caught the attention of his friends.

In the new video interview with Trevor Noah, Davido was also asked what he felt about his song becoming the theme song of last year's End Sars protests. Davido replied saying that he never intended for the song, Fem to be a protest song but it happened anyway. He also said that his further involvement in the protests meant he got in trouble with some top guns and had to leave the country.
