BON Awards 2018: Tope Oshin’s ‘We Don’t Live Here Anymore’ wins Best Movie of the Year

The 10th edition of the Best of Nollywood Awards (BON) held Friday at the Kakanfo Conference Centre in Ibadan, Oyo. The event was hosted by comedian Helen Paul and veteran actor Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey and had Governor Abiola Ajimobi as the chief host. Nollywood stars thronged the ceremony; from Segun Arinze, Nobert Young, Yemi Solade, Fathia Balogun, Femi Branch, Dayo Amusa to Liz DaSilva and Judith Audu.

On the award front, Tope Oshin’s queer, young-adult film We Don’t Live Here Anymore, which was nominated in ten categories, won Best Movie of the Year. This is a career-defining moment for Oshin as a director and an achievement for Nigeria’s embryonic queer cinema.
