Eight days after the terrorist group, Boko Haram attacked a military camp in Metele, President Muhammadu Buhari is set to visit Borno.
This was contained in a statement by Presidential Spokesperson, Garba Shehu, who said the president cancelled an earlier scheduled visit to Benin, Edo, on Tuesday.
He wrote on Twitter, “President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled his planned official visit to Benin, Edo State tomorrow, to visit Maiduguri, Borno State on Wednesday.”
It was earlier reported that on Sunday, November 18, 2018, members of terrorist sect Boko Haram, stormed the 157 Task Force Battalion in Metele and killed over 100 soldiers.
According to reports, the terrorist group used rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns and AK47 rifles to raid the base before destroying a slew of armoured vehicles and killing every army officer in sight.
