Republic Of Ireland vs Wales – Who Do You Think Will Win?

Are you watching the UEFA Nations League matches? We are sure there are plenty of surprises for you already, even though it is just the group stages that is going on.

The match between the Republic of Ireland and Whales took place in Aviva Stadium, Dublin. The first half of the match was lacking the thrill with whales and Ireland scoring a 0-0. But as the Second half passed by, both sides knew that there was a lot at stake and we saw some more passing.

However, it was the Wales who always appeared to score giving a positive element to the play.  If you are into Betway Naija, you would know that many people had bet on Wales – and they were proved right.

Wales have been playing some brilliant football in the recent past, and this recent performance just proves that they have it what it takes to go the entire way.

At a first Harry Arter gave a try by his free kick for the Republic of Ireland, 20 yards away from the goal. This gave Wales an opportunity and up stepped Harry Wilson, and he gave his free-kick a sweet strike to the top left corner.

A Look at the Match

To sum it up, it was a match that could have gone either way – if only a little luck was on the Irish side.

The free kick by Harry Wilson ensured the Wales beat the Republic of Ireland, the second in the UEFA Nations League with a thrilling 1-0 win. This has guaranteed Ryan Giggs’ team, a top 2 finish in the League-B, Group-4 of the Nations League. Wilson continued to thrive with his most brilliant free-kick for Derby against Manchester United in the previous month. On the other hand, Ireland created a little in their response and looked as if they were going to be relegated from Group B4.

Though Giggs was without Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale in this match, he still secured Wales’ the victory without the pair and also the first game to win in Dublin since 1992. Wales made five changes since their defeat to Spain as Matthew Smith, James Chester, David Brooks, Tyler Roberts and Tom Lawrence started ahead Declan John, Chris Gunter, Ethan Ampadu, Sam Vokes and Aaron Ramsey.

As this result against Ireland was proved, Giggs wanted to build an as much strong squad as he can by boiling the blood of the young players in this Nations League campaign, and it turned out to be working. It was a much tensed end to the game between the two as the Republic of Ireland did everything they could to throw the Wales out, but the defensive goal by Whales moved Wales to the top in the Nations League group.

It is with Denmark next, for Wales in Cardiff City Stadium which could be the decider of the Group 4. Also, Ireland could be downgraded to the League C if the Danes could win on Wales in the next match.
