Following the excitement across all platforms over the launch of the political advocacy group – 67 Million Youth Initiative – it has become imperative to set the records straight on its mandate.
67 Million Youth Initiative is a multi-disciplinary multi-party pressure group set up to advance the agenda of active youth participation in government at all levels.
IT IS NOT, and WILL NOT endorse any presidential candidate for the 2019 elections. It will, however, support the aspiration of young people seeking elective and appointive positions across Nigeria and in political parties.
The group, which is driven by young patriotic Nigerians with the interest of the nation at heart, is set to lead the charge on the call for youth engagement and participation in government. It will build on the gains of the widely successful Not Too Young To Run bill which was recently passed.
Members of the board of trustees include Mike Okoye (APGA); Asuquo Ekpenyong (PDP), Maryam Laushi (MDP), among others. Its delegates are nominated – irrespective of party membership or affiliations.
